![]() ![]() This Continental, however, is close enough it took me back in time. On the other hand, no car currently made can equal the quiet soft ride of those cars. I grew up with those ‘60s and ‘70s American luxury cars and I drove them as a teenager (my parents’ and grandparents’ cars). ![]() The 3.7L V-6 in our car is the same used in previous generations of Mustangs and it shows. ![]() The ride of this car is not up to 1960s luxury car standards (Lincoln or Cadillac), nor is the noise isolation. Judge for yourself- but the critical reviews of others simply not justified in my opinion. The fit, finish and interior are outstanding (I traded in a 2005, 3 series BMW for this car, and the Continental’s materials build quality is equal or better). A coolant leak repaired under warranty within the first week of ownership, last year (year 2) a defective rear door latch button (interior) replaced and the automatic trunk needed a repair later in the year. We bought our 2017, AWD 3.7L Select 3 years ago, an off lease car with 31,000 miles on it and we now have just shy of 50,000 miles on it. Thank you for reading my heartfelt review. Overall I’m very pleased with my 2022 RX 350 and plan to keep it until death keeps us apart. This RX 350 2022 model is the last of the V6 smooth buttery engines with sufficient power and acceleration yet economical enough, it doesn’t require 91 octane gasoline as it is engineered to perform on 87 octane. I find the touch pad user friendly, no convoluted problems using it on my 8’ inch screen, love the dials quality buttons on the 8 inch screen as well. Thus far I do not use the kick sensor for the power rear door it’s simply enough to touch the bottom on the rear tailgate. I do not care to start my vehicle using my smartphone, personally the Lexus app is not useful to me, as my choice is to start the vehicle the old fashion way key-fob in my pocket. I bought my 2022 RX 350 Premium in February, it rides comfortably and the outward visibility is good, overall built in quality and safety features makes you feel at ease and confident on the road ahead, I’m 64 yrs old 6’2 230 lbs and both front ventilated seats are very comfortable.ĭon’t believe the hype of the Mark Levinson audio system which in itself an excellent addition adds up $$$ to the overall price and unless you have to drive a concert hall all day it is not needed, the built in quality HD system on the Premium suffices for most users, the added CD is a welcoming experience for an old gizzard like me and my classical CD’s. Everything lines up, the paint is beautiful ! This is one of the best cars I have ever owned, if not the best ! I highly recommend the GX460 ! While some reviews tend to knock the rear tail gate opening that opens to the side, I love it, and a big plus is that you can raise the back window ! Not many SUV's do that ! The GX460 is built in one of the best factories in Japan, the Tahara plant. I'm average about two miles to the gallon different, around 16 in town, with 22 on the highway. The MPG is really not far off from the RX350 with the v6. The tried and true v8 with the 4 speed automatic trans is wonderful, smooth sailing. I do recommend the sport package, it has nice exterior upgrades. I have the Premium Plus with Sport package, and it is super good looking, and I get compliments on it all the time. I traded a 2020 RX350, and believe it or not, the GX is super quiet, and more so than the RX350. I did get two Key Fobs, so it depends on when you get the car. I purchased a new 2023 GX460 two weeks ago, and it is a fabulous SUV. I would gladly recommend an X4 it's the best of all worlds providing comfort/sporty driving, 8" clearance, and a bit of space in the back end. I was t-boned by a driver (who was on her phone) doing at least 25 mph & while her car was destroyed, mine was injured but driveable, and I was uninjured despite her slamming directly into the driver's side. No issues with reliability, and it is the safest vehicle I've ever owned. It's roomier than reviews make it out to be. We moved our son to school (all of his stuff, and 3 adults) in the X4 w/o any issues. to quote one reviewer, "I'm not the ****** UPS man" - if you need cargo space, go with the X3 or X5 (and look like just about every other driver in Bozeman MT). Sufficient power to conquer mountain passes, and my average fuel economy (driving like an idiot at times) hovered around 29-30 mpg. Controls are easy to access and displays are very clear/easy to read. Competent in snow, secure on dirt/gravel roads, I felt secure in driving in whatever rural Montana tossed my way. I found excuses to drive, just to take it out and throw it around corners (to quote my son, who also oddly found just as many excuses to drive). ![]()
